How is an ADHD Diagnosis Determined at Mind Empowerment?

Comprehensive ADHD Evaluation with QbCheck ADHD Testing

At Mind Empowerment, we are committed to providing comprehensive assessments for ADHD. To support our diagnostic process, we offer QbCheck ADHD Test, a cutting edge, FDA- cleared test that objectively measures key indicators of ADHD.

What is Qb Check for ADHD?

QbCheck is a simple, computer-based test that evaluates three core areas often impacted by ADHD:

  • Attention:  Your ability to stay focused and process information.
  • Activity Level: Movement and physical activity during the test.
  • Impulse Control: How well you can regulate responses.

This assessment provides objective data that complements clinical evaluations, offering a clearer picture of ADHD- related symptoms. The results are compared to other individuals of the same age and gender (biological sex assigned at birth) with and without an ADHD diagnosis.

Why QbCHeck?

  • Evidence-Based: QbCheck supports the provider's decision-making process by either helping to establish or rule out an ADHD diagnosis and/ or measure treatment effects using scientifically validated methods.
  • Personalized Care: Results may guide our treatment plans, ensuring each patient receives the care they need.
  • Convenient: The test is quick (15 to 20 minutes), non-invasive, and suitable for both adults and children (ages 6 to 60).

How It Works

1. Comprehensive Initial Evalution

Your provider will begin with an in-depth evaluation. During this initial visit, we:

  • Collect a detailed history, including personal, academic, and professional experiences.
  • Explore your current symptoms and how they affect your daily life.
  • Discus potential overlapping conditions that may mimic or accompany ADHD, such as anxiety or depression.

This thorough approach ensures we fully understand your unique challenges and needs. You may also be given lab orders or other medical testing that will need to be completed prior to our follow up.

2. QbCheck Testing and Forming an Integrated Diagnosis

Following the initial evaluation, your provider may recommend that you complete the QbCheck test, a computer- based assessment that is quick and non-invasive and supports your provider's assessment, objectively. Your test will be scheduled like an appointment, and you can complete the test from the comfort of your own home (you will need access to a computer or laptop with a camera). Once you have completed the test, your provider will analyze your test results and combine the findings with your comprehensive evaluation.

*The fee for the QbCheck test is $230, we do not bill insurance or offer super-bills for this test. The fee will be collected once you consent and the test has been ordered. The fee is non-refundable.

3. Individualized Treatment Plan

Following the completion of your test, your will meet with your provider for a follow up and discuss your results from both the QbCheck test and any lab or medical testing that was ordered.  From there, you and your provider will develop a treatment plan that is tailored to your specific needs. (This may or may not include medication, referrals for additional testing, etc.).

Disclaimer:

At Mind Empowerment, we emphasize that ADHD diagnoses are determined through a comprehensive and evidence-based process that combines clinical expertise, detailed patient history, and advanced tools like the QbCheck test. While QbCheck provides valuable objective data, it is not the sole determinant of a diagnosis, and clinical judgment is the final arbiter. Treatment plans, including the potential for stimulant prescriptions, are developed based on the entirety of the evaluation and not on test results alone.

We make no guarantees regarding a diagnosis or medication outcomes. Additionally, this process is not a substitute for broader neuropsychological evaluation if complex or inconclusive cases arise. Mind Empowerment is committed to ethical and transparent practices, ensuring individualized care for every patient.

How is ADHD treated?

Common treatment methods may include psychotherapy (i.e., cognitive behavioral therapy, family therapy), psychoeducation (i.e., coping skills & techniques, self-care), & stimulant (i.e., Adderall, Vyvanse) or nonstimulant medications (i.e., Strattera, Wellbutrin).

Disclaimer: We do not prescribe or continue prescriptions for stimulants or other controlled medications in the states of Arizona or Washington. Nonstimulant options are available in these states as medically appropriate.
